Black Cats in Ancient Egypt Living the Goddess Life

As it should be, cats of all fur colors were greatly valued in Egypt. I love how the statues were black.
Bastet is the Egyptian goddess of the home, fertility, childbirth, and cats.

“She protected the home from evil spirits and disease, especially diseases associated with women and children.”

“One of the most important aspects of Bastet’s festival was the delivery of mummified cats to her temple. When the temple was excavated in 1887 and 1889 over 300,000 mummified cats were found.”

WOW!

However, I say that these archaeologists need to leave people’s resting places alone.

How can we not worship cats? They are beautiful, mysterious, smart, and fancy.
